Here’s the reaction of Koko Pimentel on the arrest of his ex-wife Jewel Lobaton
KOKO PIMENTEL – The senator has issued a statement following the arrest of his ex-wife Jewel Lobaton.
Lobaton, the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1998, was earlier arrested for the violation of Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code or estafa.
Estafa is the legal term for the criminal offense of swindling. It is when someone represents themselves as someone else or claims to be able to do things they cannot, causing the victim to suffer damages.
Damages may refer to monetary, personal property, or valuables lost as a result of the deception. These are the elements that must be present, in addition to fraud, for a case to be classified as estafa.
Lobaton is the ex-wife of Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.
Pimentel took to social media wherein he called on the media practitioners to “desist” from mentioning him or “Pimentel” in connection with her arrest.
According to him, their marriage has long been dissolved or declared null and void by the court as well as the church.
He stressed that Jewel Lobaton has no right to use his surname.
Here’s the statement of Koko Pimentel:
It was in January 2018 when the court granted the annulment of their marriage. The former couple decided to split up in 2012.
They have two sons.
In the last interview of Jewel with PEP way back in December 2020, she said that she’s longing for her two sons.
After the annulment, Senator Koko Pimentel tied the knot with Kathryna Yu in October 2018.
