Markus Paterson: “She’s happy in life, and I’m happy in life and our only priority is Jude.”
MARKUS PATERSON — The actor recently took to social media to confirm that he and actress Janella Salvador have separated nearly a year ago.
However, the actor denied that he was pertaining to the actress in his viral remark about no longer wanting to date someone from the showbiz industry.
The actress earlier mentioned being a single mother without directly addressing her status with Markus.
In a statement posted on his Instagram Stories, Markus confirmed that he and Janella, with whom he has a child, have broken up “for almost a year”. Markus also said that he and Janella are “happy in life” and their son is their only priority.
Markus added that what he said in an episode of “Boys After Dark” wasn’t actually about his ex-girlfriend but he understood that it’s open to misinterpretation because of the way he phrased it and since they never actually announced their breakup.
“Just to clear up the facts, me and Janella have been broken up for almost a year,” Markus wrote. “She’s happy in life, and I’m happy in life and our only priority is Jude.”
The actor became the subject of intrigue when his remark, about avoiding dating someone from the showbiz industry, circulated on social media, coincidentally amidst speculation about his relationship with the actress.

Markus reiterated his stance later in the said episode, by giving advice to fellow young actors or aspiring actors.
“Sa lahat ng mga manonood na batang artista or gusto mag-artista, huwag kayong mag-date ng ibang babaeng artista,” Markus Paterson said at that time.
Following the actor’s viral remark, Janella Salvador has yet to issue a statement directly pertaining to her relationship with her ex-boyfriend as of writing.
