Janella Salvador Admits She’s A Single Mom Now
JANELLA SALVADOR – Darna actress Janella Salvador confirmed that she and Markus Paterson have parted ways.
Pinay actress, singer, and endorser Janella Salvador rose to fame due to her role in the ABS-CBN series “Be Careful With My Heart.” She now appears as Valentina in “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series.”
The actress confirmed her relationship with British-Filipino footballer Markus Paterson in 2019. Jude, her first child with Paterson, was born in October 2020.
Following that, Janella Salvador and Markus Paterson started to share a glimpse into their lives while raising their adorable kid. Despite returning to showbiz, Janella and Marcus continue to be active parents.
Speculations that Paterson and Salvador broke up have been circulating since June after netizens noticed that they have not been posting pics of each other on their respective social media accounts. When asked about the reports, Salvador initially told Push TV that she and Paterson were “okay” amid the rumors.

Janella Salvador just confirmed that she is now a single mom. She revealed this in an interview with ABS-CBN broadcast journalist Bernadette Sembrano. The 24-year-old Kapamilya star became open about the said matter when she talked about her character in Darna.
“Relate ako kasi si Regina ‘pag meron siyang ipinaglalaban, as long as alam niyang nasa tama siya ilalaban niya talaga. Gano’n ako as a person as long as wala akong natatapakan, kasi I like learning. I like challenging myself,” said Janella.
Bernadette Sembrano then asked Janella what was the thing she was fighting in life. “Being a single mom — talagang nilalaban ko ‘yun,” Janella answered.
However, the actress admits that she knows within herself that she can overcome them. She said, “At the end of the day, alam kong kaya ko naman siya. As much as I love the people around me who are always there to help me, I always want to know na kaya kong gawin.”
“I can rely on myself na hindi ko kailangang humingi ng tulong sa iba,” she added.
Meanwhile, Janella considers her mother Jenine Desiderio an inspiration for her independence in life. “Siguro kasi I saw my mom growing up, kung paano siya — she was able to raise us on her own. So siguro na-embody ko rin kung paano siya — I wanted to be independent as well,” saad niya,” said Janella.
