Atty. Jesus Falcis posts GCash for support amid case filed by a professor
ATTY. JESUS FALCIS – The Kakampink lawyer launched “fundraising” after facing cyber libel filed by a professor.
It was just recently when he went to the social networking site, Facebook wherein he shared that Professor Antonio Contreras filed a cyber libel complaint against him.
The complaint was in connection with his blog post dated January 24, 2022, wherein he called out the professor/political scientist as “biased, sinungaling, and having an axe to grind against VP Leni because he posted fake news that Leni declined the DZRH interviews.”
Contreras demanded a public apology and retraction from Falcis during their hearing before the Laguna Provincial Prosecutor’s Office. However, he refused to.
Atty. Jesus Falcis has already submitted a 20-page counter affidavit wherein he explained that his post is not “defamatory”.
While the next hearing is set on September 29, the lawyer is hoping that the case gets dismissed.
A lot have shown support for Falcis. However, he still needs some extra funds to cover expenses if the case goes to court.
According to him, it will cover his bail and the law firm he already consulted with.
In line with this, he posted his GCash where people can send their financial support or donations.
The lawyer said that in exchange for any support, he’s willing to give legal advice or strategies.
He added that he can also help law students or bar takers understand legal concepts – especially under political law, family law, and criminal law.
Contreras has yet to give any statement in response to the Facebook post of Atty. Jesus Falcis.
