The latest Maid in Malacañang teaser unveils Cory Aquino
MAID IN MALACAÑANG – The latest teaser of the movie about the Marcos family has finally unveiled the character of former President Cory Aquino, showing her playing “mahjong.”
The life of the Marcos family will be depicted in the drama-comedy film Maid in Malacañang.
The movie is about the last 72 hours of the Marcos family in the Palace.
It stars Cesar Montano as former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., Diego Loyzaga as President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Cristine Reyes as Senator Imee Marcos, and Ruffa Gutierrez as Imelda Romualdez Marcos and Ella Cruz as Irene Marcos.
While those who will portray as house helpers of the Marcos family are Elizabeth Oropesa as Yaya Lucy, Beverly Salviejo as Yaya Biday, and Karla Estrada as Yaya Santa.
In the latest teaser of the movie directed by Darryl Yap, the character of ex-President Corazon “Cory” Aquino has been revealed.
In the video she’s can be seen playing “mahjong” along with nuns or “madre.”
“Hindi na ako tumodas-todas,” Aquino said.
“Eh kasi naman tayo ka nang tayo e,” a nun replied.
“Totoo yan, maswerte talaga ang nakaupo,” Aquino responded.

Based on historical facts, one of the favorite pastimes of the former president is playing mahjong.
In fact, in an article by Rey Gamboa of the Philippine Star, he mentioned that Aquino used to play mahjong in the afternoon while she was president of the country.
“Simple mahjong afternoon sessions during her term were a whiff of charm to the musty formality of Presidential life,” the article noted.
Maid in Malacañang is set to premiere in theaters nationwide this coming August 3.
