Lolo Angelito, popularly known as Lolo Pops, became famous on social media for selling colorful lollipops.

Lolo Pops has been selling candies for more than a decade to support his family, especially his wife who suffered a stroke in 2011.

When the pandemic struck in 2020, factories making the lollipop he sells shut down and because of this, he found other ways to generate income.

When the quarantine protocols were no longer tight, he decided to sell pastillas and polvoron along the streets on board his pedicab.

Through the help of his avid customer named Arriance Ocampo, his business level up since it became available online.

Ocampo shared that while she was browsing online, she saw a post about Lolo Pops. There were people commenting coming from Bulacan and Manila who wanted to try his candies.

Then, she decided to enroll him in an online store, and eventually, it became available nationwide.

Lolo Pop’s daughter helped him in his business and as of press time, his online store has over 100,000 followers.

In a year, his dilapidated house made of galvanized iron and wood is now a two-story concrete house.

Lolo Pops continues selling candies along the streets.

“‘Yung mga suki ko, labis labis ang pasasalamat ko kung wala sila parang lagi kong sinasabi na kayo ang number 1 sa akin. Wala akong Lolo Pops na matatawag kung hindi dahil sa inyo, kayo ang number 1 sa lahat,” he said.
