Here’s the opinion of Jay Sonza about FAMAS 2022 big winner ‘Katips’
JAY SONZA – The former broadcast journalist is wondering how the movie “Katips” became the big winner in the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards 2022.
Sonza is one of the biggest journalists in the country from the 1980s until early 2000.
He once worked with Kapuso broadcast journalist, Mel Tiangco and before he retired, he was the station manager of UNTV.
Recently, he went to social media wherein he gave his opinion about FAMAS Awards 2022 big winner, “Katips.”
“Katips” tells the stories of student activists during Martial Law.
Among the awards received by the movie in the July 30 awarding ceremony are the following; Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Original Song and Best Musical Score.
But Jay Sonza couldn’t help himself questioning how come the movie earned numerous awards although it has yet to premiere to the public.

The cast and crew of Katips have yet to issue any statement with regard to the criticisms of Sonza.
Katips will premiere in theaters nationwide in time with the showing of Maid in Malacañang, the movie about the last 72 hours of the Marcos family in the Palace.
Directed by Darryl Yap, the movie is one of the most talked about movies today. Earlier, it released its latest teaser showing former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino playing “mahjong”.
