Sen. Bong Revilla Sends Condolences to Family of Former Pres. Fidel Ramos

BONG REVILLA – The Senator revealed that was the late former President Fidel V. Ramos who convinced him to join public service.

The death of former Pres. Fidel Ramos left countless hearts broken. Yesterday, Sunday, the family of the 94-year-old former Chief Executive of the country confirmed his passing as they assured to release details about his wake and funeral “in the near future”.

Ramos was the second president after the People Power Revolution which ousted former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., his second cousin. He was the Chief Constabulary during the term of Marcos Sr. as president.

Former Pres. Fidel Ramos was the successor of the late former Pres. Cory Aquino. His administration pushed a lot of efforts to boost the economy of the country as he aimed for an industrialized Philippines by the year 2000.

The family of former Pres. Fidel Ramos has yet to issue details regarding his cause of death. Many people were undeniably shocked by his passing because he is known to be physically active despite his old age.

A lot of politicians were quick to extend their condolences to the family of the late former Pres. Fidel V. Ramos. One of them is Sen. Bong Revilla.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Bong Revilla described former Pres. Fidel V. Ramos as his “inspiration”. According to him, it was the former President who convinced him to join public service as he invited him to join Lakas-CMD.

Sen. Revilla stressed that he is with Lakas-CMD “espousing its ideals” after around 30 years. He tagged FVR as his “first and true mentor” as he journeyed in politics. He served as the Vice Governor of Cavite in 1995 and, during the 109 MidTerm Elections, he was re-elected as senator.
