DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo: “Meron pa po akong nasa listahan na 2 million na naghihintay makapasok.”
DSWD — The Department of Social Welfare and Development said that some 2 million Filipino families have been put on the waiting list for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps.
DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo explained to some groups of “angry” 4Ps beneficiaries set to be delisted from the government’s cash assistance program that many poor families are still on the waitlist.
Tulfo said in an interview on ABS-CBN’s TeleRadyo on Saturday that 1.3 million beneficiaries out of 4.4 million families will be removed from the government’s cash assistance program because they are no longer qualified or have already reached the maximum 7 years of stay under the said program.
However, Tulfo said that those families will not be immediately kicked out of the said program, but they will be given notice weeks before being delisted.
He added that 600 families are being interviewed but some of them closed their doors when the DSWD officials visited their houses or they have already changed their addresses.
To recall, DSWD Assistant Secretary Romel Lopez said last July 21 that the lists of removed and new 4Ps beneficiaries may be released by “September or October” 2022.

At that time, he explained in an interview on “Unang Balita” that the DSWD isn’t rushing the removal of 1.3 million beneficiaries as it will take “about 6 months to a year” for their delistment to be completely processed.
“Ang sinasabi ni Secretary Erwin Tulfo, ang maximum nito ay hanggang September or October, kasi nga po gusto nating masiguro, ito ay mandato rin ng ating Pangulo, na linisin ang listahan at ilagay ‘yung mga kwalipikadong benepisyaryo para sa 4Ps,” Lopez said at that time.
