Leandro Leviste Says INC Rally Is ‘For All Filipinos’
LEANDRO LEVISTE – The Batangas 1st District Representative joined the surprise rally organized by the religious group Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) at the EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City on Tuesday morning, June 30. He also encouraged the public to take part, saying the gathering was not intended for a single group but was meant to represent the interests of all Filipinos.
In a Facebook post, Leviste said everyone was welcome to attend the rally, stressing that its purpose went beyond supporting one organization. He described the event as a gathering for the benefit of the Filipino people as a whole. “Lahat ay inaanyayahan ngayong araw sa EDSA People Power Monument. Hindi ito para sa iisang grupo. Para ito sa lahat ng Pilipino,” he wrote.
Before attending the rally, Leviste also shared his views on the issue of campaign donors and the funding of political campaigns. He claimed that if the identities of the real financial backers of politicians were made public, many members of the Senate and the House of Representatives would be affected.

Leviste also questioned why only Senator Rodante Marcoleta was reportedly being targeted for legal action. He argued that if allegations about campaign funding from questionable flood control projects were true, then other lawmakers who allegedly benefited from the same source of funding should also be investigated. He suggested that any investigation should apply equally to everyone involved rather than focus on only one individual.

As of Tuesday morning, Leviste was seen at the EDSA People Power Monument with members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo participating in the surprise rally. His appearance at the event came after his public statements calling for broader accountability and encouraging more Filipinos to join the gathering.
