Update on Abra Earthquake Death Toll as per NDRRMC Records
ABRA EARTHQUAKE DEATH TOLL – The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) gave an update on the fatalities.
Last July 27, a quake with a magnitude of 7.0 hit the province of Abra. Initially, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded it at 7.3 magnitude before it was downgraded to 7.0. The shaking was felt in several parts of Luzon including some areas in Metro Manila.
Recently, the NDRRMC gave an update on the Abra earthquake death toll. Based on a report on GMA News, another fatality was recorded bringing the total number of deaths to 11. The recent fatality recorded was from Tubo. The agency also reported that at least 410 people were left injured by the quake.

ABRA EARTHQUAKE UPDATES – A magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit Tayum, Abra on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at exactly 08:43:24 am according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
Earthquakes hit without prior signs/warnings most of the time.
The territories and nations including the Philippines lying along the Pacific Ring of Fire are prone to earthquakes.
On a daily basis, the PHIVOLCS record numerous quakes occurring in the country.
In an earthquake advisory it releases from time to time whenever there is an unprecedented land movement/action, it notes the location of the quake, its epicenter and depth of focus, and the time and date it hit an area. The agency also notes whether or not there are expected damages and aftershocks of a quake.
Meanwhile, based on the latest earthquake bulletin, the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that jolted the province was tectonic in origin and it hit at a depth of 17 kilometers.
