VIRAL FREE HUG – The palaboy in the viral free hug with an ABS-CBN reporter passed away on Saturday.

It was in April this year when photos of a palaboy or street dweller giving a hug to a reporter of ABS-CBN went viral online.

Izzy Lee, the newest reporter of ABS-CBN News posted the candid moment she had with a homeless woman on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.

In the photos she shared on the said social media platform, she can be seen receiving a hug from a woman who happens to be a street dweller.

While Izzy was preparing her report, a woman approached her and gave her a sweet hug.

At one point, the woman laid her face on the reporter’s shoulder. Izzy earned the admiration of netizens because she did not show any sign of disgust.

Unfortunately, the homeless woman in the viral free hug identified as Melanie Dubos passed away on Saturday, July 2.

According to her sister Mona, the psychiatric hospital where she has been confined for mental health treatment told them what happened to their sibling.

Peachy Lacabo of the Muntinlupa Social Services Department also confirmed her passing.

When the report about her became viral, Melanie Dubos was brought to the said hospital, after she get reunited with her loved ones since they have been apart for a long time.

The family is still waiting for some details about her passing.
