Incoming National Security Adviser Clarita Carlos files cyberlibel vs 5 people

CLARITA CARLOS – The incoming National Security Adviser filed cyberlibel complaint against former PCGG Commissioner Ruben Carranza and four others.

Carlos is a retired professor of political science at the University of the Philippines.

Carlos finished a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service at the University of the Philippines, where she also earned master’s and doctorate degrees in Political Science.

She pursued her post-doctoral work in Political psychology and Comparative Foreign Policy Analysis at Cornell University and the University of California at Los Angeles, respectively.

From 1988 to 1998, Carlos worked as a consultant in the Senate of the Philippines.

She also served as President of the National Defense College of the Philippines from 1998 to October 2001.

Since 1993, she has been a consultant for the Local Government Development Foundation.

Carlos has lectured at the National Defense University in the United States as well as at the Council of Asian Liberals & Democrats.

She is a recognized pioneer in Political Psychology in the country.

Meanwhile, the incoming National Security Adviser filed cyberlibel complaint against former PCGG Commissioner Ruben Carranza and four others.

Carlos has asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to look into the alleged libelous posts reportedly made by two political analysts, a historian, a lawyer, and a netizen.

The NBI is currently studying the complaint and the posts made by Carranza and four others.

Although Carranza is based overseas, NBI will still send a subpoena to his last known address, as part of the process. The complaint was in connection with his Twitter post on March 2 this year.
