Ai-Ai delas Alas, an actress-comedienne, whose real name is Martina Eileen Hernandez delas Alas-Sibayan is nicknamed the Philippines’ Comedy Queen.

Her career started on GMA Network back in 1991, as a host of the Saturday late-night musical variety show RSVP, with Dawn Zulueta and Ariel Urieta

She’s best known for her role in Ang Tanging Ina sequels.

Recently, she made a buzz online following a parody video of her wherein she’s pretending to be Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, the rival of Rep. Mike Defensor for the mayoralty race in the said city.

According to Gracio, Defensor is one of those who denied the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.

“Di man lang naisip ni Ai-Ai na si Defensor ang isa sa mga berdugo ng mga manggagawa ng ABS-CBN na naging dahilan kung bakit nawalan ng trabaho ang mga kasama niya sa industriya, sa estasyon na pinanggalingan niya. Nakakasuka siya,” he said.

To recall, it was on May 5, 2020, when the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and Solicitor General Jose Calida issued a cease-and-desist order to ABS-CBN.

On July 10, 2020, members of the House of Representatives, particularly the Committee on Legislative Franchises, voted 70–11 to deny the franchise application of ABS-CBN, citing several issues with the network’s franchise.

Following the closure of the Kapamilya Network, a lot of ABS-CBN employees lost their jobs.

Ai-Ai Delas Alas has yet to react on the remark of Gracio against her.
