US Vice President Kamala Harris tested positive for coronavirus disease

KAMALA HARRIS – The US vice president tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic remains to be the biggest challenge that the country is facing today. This disease that started way back in 2019 in Wuhan, China has placed a lot of lives at risk and has even taken the lives of many people.

A lot of personalities such as celebrities, elites, and even politicians were infected with the coronavirus as well.

Among those who earlier contracted the dreaded virus is no less than US Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to Kirsten Allen, her press secretary, Harris is not exhibiting symptoms.

Fortunately, she has not been in close contact with President Joe Biden or first lady Jill Biden due to their travel schedules.

The US vice president will undergo isolation and return to the White House once she tests negative for COVID-19.

Harris has taken the antiviral drug Paxlovid which was prescribed by her physicians.

Meanwhile, the United States continues to dominate in terms of the number of cases (82,789,716) and deaths (1,019,008).

On the other hand, 257,296,710 people have been vaccinated in the US with at least one dose and 219,370,557 are fully vaccinated.

Currently, COVID-19 is ranked first on the list of disasters in the United States by death toll. In 2020, it was the third-leading cause of death in the US behind heart disease and cancer.

The White House has yet to release an official statement about Harris.
