Maja, whose real name is Maja Ross Andres Salvador, started her career in show business via a minor role in It Might Be You (2003–2004), starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.

Then, she started to appear on the Sunday variety show, ASAP.

She also starred in some of the notable television series such as, Nagsimula sa Puso, Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, Ina, Kapatid, Anak, The Legal Wife, Bridges of Love and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

In 2017, she portrayed Lily Cruz/Ivy Aguas in Wildflower which earned her national and international awards. It was followed by her role as Camila dela Torre in The Killer Bride.

But after 18 years under Star Magic, she left the talent management arm of ABS-CBN to establish her own talent agency called Crown Artist Management, which manages the career of several stars including actor John Lloyd Cruz.

To recall, it was on May 5, 2020, that National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and Solicitor General Jose Calida issued a cease-and-desist order to ABS-CBN.

On July 10, 2020, members of the House of Representatives, particularly the Committee on Legislative Franchises, voted 70–11 to deny the franchise application of ABS-CBN, citing several issues with the network’s franchise.

Following the closure of the Kapamilya Network, a lot of ABS-CBN employees lost their jobs.

Maja, whose now a freelance artist, appears on TV5 and GMA-7. In fact, she’s one of the hosts of Eat Bulaga.

Recently, she went to the image-sharing platform Instagram wherein she expressed her support for Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta (PBA) party-list with Rep. Jericho Nograles, among those who voted to deny the franchise renewal of the Kapamilya network.

“Intense ako maghanda para sa performances ko, malaki man o maliit. Kaya excited ako ishare sa inyo na nakahanap ako ng mga kakampi na tulad ko pagdating sa pagpapakita ng pagmamahal sa ating larangan at sa kabataan,” she said.

“Maraming salamat sa PBA partylist sa pagbibigay ng suporta sa mga atletang pinoy, pati narin sa mag gaya ko na nagsusumikap para sa tagumpay!” she added.

Because of this, some Kapamilya supporters could not help but criticize Maja Salvador.

“Such a disappointment, @dprincessmaja. Sana naisip mo man lang kahit yung mga naging katrabaho mo na lang sa ABS,” a netizen said.

“Kahit hindi na nga gratitude sa Dos. Respeto na lang sa mga naging kasamahan na nawalan ng trabaho di ba?” another netizen commented.

Maja has yet to issue any statement with regards to the criticism she’s receiving.
