Diego Loyzaga: “They ran away with my money”
DIEGO LOYZAGA – The actor revealed that he lost a huge amount of money in an investment scam.
Diego whose real name is Carlos Diego Loyzaga Manhilot is the son of actor Cesar Montano and actress Teresa Loyzaga.
Diego started in showbiz when he was only 15-years-old.
His first appearance on TV was via ABS-CBN’s top-rated series Mara Clara reprising the role of Derrick Gonzales originally played by Rico Yan.
Since then, he has starred in a couple of TV series such as Pusong Ligaw, Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Los Bastardos, Encounter (Philippine TV series) and to name a few.
He also starred in a string of movies including The Breakup Playlist, Death of a Girlfriend and his latest movie, The Wife.
Meanwhile, Diego Loyzaga revealed he lost a huge amount of money in an investment scam.
According to him, the person who took his money was “sakim” or greed.
“Okay, I acquired some money which I won. Ang ginawa ko, instead of keeping it, I invested it somewhere else, thinking na lalaki yung pera,” he said.
“What happened was I was scammed. They ran away with my money. So sadly, that’s really greed,” he added.
Diego revealed it during the mediacon of his latest Vivamax movie titled, Greed.
The movie tells the story of a couple who became greedy after they won the lottery.
When asked if he experienced winning the lotto, Diego said: “I did, quite a large amount before.”
Although Diego mentioned about lotto, Diego once won PHP2.6M alongside his leading lady Cristine Reyes thru the TV5 game show The Wall Philippines in April 2021.
However, it’s not clear whether the money he and Cristine won from the game show was the amount he lost to a scam.
