President Duterte: “Limitado lang tayo ng six years but I’d be happy to hand you over to kung sino man ang susunod.”
PRESIDENT DUTERTE — The Philippine President said that he’s willing to hand over his Cabinet members to the next administration.
The President and some members of his Cabinet turned nostalgic during the “Talk to the People” public address on late Monday night, February 28, after he expressed his intentions to pass them on to the next President.
In his latest public briefing, the President was all praises to Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., and Defense chief Delfin Lorenzana.
The President told Tugade that he’s ready to bequeath him to the next administration after he detailed the adjustment in public transportation capacities as the Philippines deescalates to Alert Level 1 in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic starting March 1.

Tugade talked about the completion of port projects that are now ready for inauguration, as well as the improvement of the road sector by the addition of more routes in the National Capital Region (NCR) and in the provinces.
“I was awed actually looking at the — ano ‘yan slides? And the way you… You have not changed. Your passion for achievement has always been there. I said I’m awed actually. Maligaya ako sa para sa bayan na kinuha kita,” the President told Tugade.
According to the President, he would have been done nothing as the country’s President without the help of his Cabinet members.
The President also said that he got the “best minds” in his Cabinet, and it would be better if their good works can be continued even in the next administration.
“Pero alam ko na gusto mo (Tugade) nang mag-retire. Sabay-sabay na tayo lahat, puro naman ng… Ang hindi lang retirable dito si Secretary Briones,” the President said in jest.
The President also told the vaccine czar that he’s “very happy” to have him leading the country’s fight against the coronavirus pandemic. He likewise thanked Education Secretary Leonor Briones and Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez for their hard work and valuable contributions to the nation.
President Duterte added that he will suggest retaining his “best” Cabinet members for the sake of the nation.
“I could have not chosen better men actually,” the President said.

Ano ba yan? Minamaliit naman yata ang kakayahan ng ibang papalit sa susunod na administration. Wala bang kakayahan ang susunod na Pangulo sa pagpili niya ng kanyang gabinete?
