Malacañang Announces Alert Level In PH From March 1-15

MALACAÑANG — The Palace announced on Sunday the alert level in the Philippines starting March 1 to March 15.

Cabinet Secretary and acting Presidential Spokesperson Karlo Nograles said that the National Capital Region (NCR) would be under Alert Level 1, the least strict among the four risk classifications, from March 1 to 15, 2022. The region is under Alert Level 2 until February 28, 2022.

Aside from NCR, 28 areas in Luzon, 6 areas in the Visayas, and 4 areas in Mindanao will also be under Alert Level 1.

Manila Bulletin reported that there are no restrictions in terms of outdoor and indoor capacities under Alert Level 1 and the public can undertake interzonal and intrazonal travel without regard to age and even comorbidities.

Based on the report, all persons, establishments, or activities are allowed to work, operate, or be undertaken at total on-site or venue seating capacity, provided that those are consistent with minimum public health standards.

Here’s the list of areas that will be under Alert Level 1 from March 1-15:

  7. Ilocos Norte
  8. Ilocos Sur

  11. Batanes
  12. Cagayan

  14. Isabela
  15. Quirino
  16. Angeles City
  17. Aurora
  18. Bataan
  19. Bulacan
  20. Olongapo City
  21. Pampanga
  22. Tarlac
  23. Cavite
  24. Laguna
  25. Marinduque
  26. Puerto Princesa City
  27. Romblon
  28. Naga City
  29. Catanduanes
  30. Aklan
  31. Bacolod City
  32. Capiz
  33. Guimaras
  34. Siquijor
  35. Biliran
  36. Zamboanga City
  37. Cagayan de Oro City

The in-person classes for primary education shall be subject to prior approval of the Office of the President.

Meanwhile, 18 areas in Luzon, 17 areas in Visayas, and 31 areas in Mindanao will be under Alert Level 2 from March 1-15, 2022.

Inquirer reported that interzonal and intrazonal movement will be allowed under Alert Level 2, subject to reasonable restrictions that the local government units (LGUs) may impose.

Selected activities or establishments are permitted to operate at a maximum of 50% indoor capacity for fully vaccinated individuals and 70% outdoor capacity under Alert Level 2.
