Drilon Urges 3 Presidential Bets To “Start Examining Where They Are”, Unite

Sen. Franklin Drilon Speaks on Presidential Bets in Election 2022

DRILON – The Senate Minority Leader urges three (3) presidential bets to examine where they are so they can possibly unite under one (1) candidate.

The Elections 2022 is only a few months away from now. Currently, the national election candidates are busy campaigning in different cities and provinces to reach as many people as they can before the campaign period is over.

The grand rallies of Vice President Leni Robredo and her running-mate, Liberal party’s vice-presidential bet Senator Kiko Pangilinan, have taken social media platforms by storm after the events gathered thousands of people.

The provinces of Iloilo, Negros Occidental, and Cavite are among those that turned pink during the grand rally of the Leni-Kiko tandem. There are “surveys” that claim that the Vice President is “gaining” numbers.

Amid the talks that Vice Pres. Leni Robredo is “gaining” numbers, Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon expressed his side that other presidential candidates must consider uniting under the Vice President.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Senator said that if it is really confirmed that Robredo is “gaining” numbers, the three (3) other presidential bets which he did not name must “start examining where they are” and if they allegedly have no double figures, they must consider uniting “to fight the administration candidate so we can have a clear mandate”.

Sen. Drilon stressed that the division of the opposition gives former Sen. Bongbong Marcos an easy way to the presidency. He stressed that it is time to think “whether or not this is good for our country”.

The Senator stressed that Robredo can work with anyone and believes that her campaign has not abandoned the pursuit for a unity ticket in the upcoming election. He also expressed his disagreement with the accusations that the Leni-Kiko team paid the attendees of their grand rally in Cavite.

“A hakot would involve payment of allowances, of food etc. Just imagine that at P500 per head. What P40,000, does it go into billion, that you would spend in a single event? They [Boying Remulla] are in a panic mode,” the Senator said.
