Get to know about Prof. Clarita Carlos
CLARITA CARLOS – Dubbed as the “Woman of the Hour”, the Political Science professor caught the attention of many during SMNI presidential debate.
Earlier, Sonshine Media Network International organized a presidential debate.
It was attended by former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., labor leader Ka Leody De Guzman, and two others.
Among the panelists in the said debate was Political Science professor Clarita Carlos.
The professor’s questions about foreign policy and other important topics that presidential candidates answered have caught the attention of netizens.
Because of this, some netizens believe that Carlos will become a good presidential adviser to the next president of the country.
But who is Clarita Carlos?
Clarita Carlos is a retired professor of political science at the University of the Philippines.
Carlos finished a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service at the University of the Philippines, where she also earned master’s and doctorate degrees in Political Science.
She pursued her post-doctoral work in Political psychology and Comparative Foreign Policy Analysis at Cornell University and the University of California at Los Angeles, respectively.
From 1988 to 1998, Carlos worked as a consultant in the Senate of the Philippines.
She also served as President of the National Defense College of the Philippines from 1998 to October 2001.
Since 1993, she has been a consultant of the Local Government Development Foundation.
Carlos has lectured at the National Defense University in the United States as well as at the Council of Asian Liberals & Democrats.
She is a recognized pioneer in Political Psychology in the country.
