Recently, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) awarded channels 2 and 16 to Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc., a broadcasting company owned by business tycoon, Manny Villar.

Apart from granting frequencies to the broadcasting company owned by the former Senate president, NTC also awarded Channel 43, previously used by Amcara Broadcasting Network and ABS-CBN to SMNI.

Quiboloy, one of the critics of ABS-CBN, has acquired Channel 43- the frequency used for ABS-CBN TV Plus.

Quiboloy is also the owner of UHF Channel 40 which broadcasts programs of his religious group Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Aside from granting frequencies to Villar and Quiboloy’s broadcasting companies, NTC also granted frequencies to Aliw Broadcasting Corporation, which operates a number of stations under the Home Radio and DWIZ brands.

NTC has given the said broadcasting company provisional authority to operate Channel 23 that previously aired Studio 23 and ABS-CBN Sports+Action.
