Retired Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon Reacts to Robin Padilla’s Statement

Retired Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said on social media that she will not vote for senatorial candidate Robin Padilla.

The May 2022 Election is fast approaching. In the case of the presidential election, ten (10) candidates remain on the official ballot for the upcoming poll according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Several political parties have already aired their support for certain bets in the upcoming election. Both national and local elections will be held.

In the case of the national elections, there will be an election for senator this May 2022. One of the senatorial candidates under the ruling party, PDP-Laban, is actor Robin Padilla.

Recently, Robin Padilla spoke on the issue of the alleged EJK in the Philippines linked to the anti-drug campaign of the Duterte administration. According to him, it is really part of the drug war. He also claimed that Filipino hero Andres Bonifacio is allegedly the first victim of EJK.

The said statement of Robin Padilla caught the attention of retired Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon. She shared a photo of the actor with the said statement along with a caption saying that she will not vote for him.

Guanzon recently made rounds on social media when she made claims about her belief that there is allegedly political interference on the release of the decision of the consolidated cases seeking to disqualify former Senator Bongbong Marcos from the presidential race.

The former Comelec Commissioner who just retired last February 2 revealed that she voted to disqualify Marcos Jr. as she believes that there is really moral turpitude on his series of non-filing of his income tax. She also released a separate decision on it stating her decision.
