Many showbiz personalities are trying their luck in the upcoming elections. One of their primary reasons for venturing into politics is to expand their platform in helping others.

Among those who are rooting for elective posts in 2022 are renowned celebrities such as Raffy Tulfo, Jason Abalos, Ejay Falcon, Richard Yap, Anjo Yllana, Angelu de Leon, Nash Aguas, Dennis Padilla to name a few.

Adding to the list of celebrities-turned-election hopefuls is no less than action star Robin Padilla. The action star will run for senator under the PDP-Laban faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.

Robin has been known for being vocal with his thoughts because according to him, being a taxpayer gives him the right to express himself.

In an interview with entertainment editor Tessa Mauricio-Arriola, he shared the reason why he decided to run for a public post in the coming election.

According to him, he ventured into politics because he’s fed up with the politicians he’s endorsing during the election.

“Kaya nagdesisyon ako kahit labag na labag sa kalooban ko ‘to para matapos na rin at magkaalam-alam na kasi naaapektuhan na rin ‘yung career ko (showbiz) kasi mula nu’ng nag-full blast ako ng suporta kay PRRD nawalan ako ng maraming trabaho kasi maraming sinagasaan si mayor na mga oligarko na dati kong mga boss,” he said.

Robin Padilla admitted that it was his wife Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla who’s financing his candidacy from t-shirts and tarpaulins he’s distributing in his visit in various places across the country.
