Pacquiao is gearing up for the highest position in the government this coming May 9, 2022 election.

Together with his runningmate Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza, they will go against the tandem of; Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

Earlier, he divulged his plan to appoint Bro. Eddie Villanueva as anti-corruption czar if he wins as president in the coming polls.

Villanueva has reacted to his announcement.

In an interview with ANC, he said: “Well, first of all, I am so humbled and honored by such offer and of course, at present we are weighing all the different platforms of presidential candidates.”

Previously, Jesus is Lord, a Christian megachurch based in the Philippines founded by Bro. Eddie Villanueva said it will not be endorsing any presidential bet in the May 9 elections.

The announcement was made by Villanueva during a Zoom press briefing on Monday, February 21.

According to him, most of the contenders are friends of his son, reelectionist Sen. Joel Villanueva.

Villanueva noted that if he did not have a “clear impression from the Lord” in his heart, he could not easily make a decision on endorsing a particular candidate for president.

Meanwhile, the campaign period for national positions started on February 8.

In line with the campaign kick-off, the top presidential and vice-presidential tandems organized proclamation rallies. It was later followed by campaign rallies in different locations.
