Metro Manila is under Alert Level 3 beginning January 3, 2022. There is a spike in the COVID-19 cases in several cities in the capital region following the holiday season. Supposedly, the measure expired last January 15 but it was further extended until the end of the month.

The local governments in the National Capital Region (NCR) agreed to temporarily implement restrictions on the movement of unvaxxed individuals. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) also implements the “No Vaxx, No Ride” policy.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, in Quezon City, the officials of the city’s Market Development and Administration Department will go around the Litex Market and the Commonwealth Market to determine the unvaccinated vendors. They will be brought to Q.C. Memorial Circle for their jabs.

According to the report, the local government of Quezon City pledged to give P2,000.00 for the vendors who will be vaccinated and will not be able to sell for a day or more. Several market vendors favor the vaccination for the safety and as well as the safety of the consumers.

For market vendors who will refuse to get their jabs, as per the MMDA Resolution 22-01, they would need to undergo a COVID-19 swab test every two (2) weeks.
