A lot of things have been invented through the years.

Every now and then, a one-of-a-kind invention is being introduced.

Speaking of invention, four graduating students taking up Mechanical Engineering caught the attention of many with their unique invention.

Wis Altez, Dennis Sagurit, Jasper Gumayagay at CJ Amurao, are graduating students from Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) in Quezon City.

Last January 21, Wis took to social media wherein he proudly shared a news item from GMA News Online featuring their invention.

It shows the bicycle with three wheels and a mechanism in the back that collect the garbage.

Wis also presented the earlier designs and working prototypes of their invention.

Their invention will make the jobs of street sweepers easy. While pedaling the bicycle, the litter on the street is automatically picked up so that there is no need for sweeping.

The bicycle is also environmentally friendly because it is made of recycled materials.

Wis thought of the project when there was a pandemic because many Filipinos developed a passion for bicycles. They also found that street sweepers had difficulty sweeping the streets.

Wiz was very happy that their invention became popular on social media.

He also thanked his thesis colleagues and people who provided inspiration and support to them.

He has also received many invitations from other media outlets to feature their pedal-operated road sweeper.
