Ogie Diaz is one of the avid celebrity supporters of VP Leni Robredo
Comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz stressed that he is not receiving any monetary reward for his support for Vice President Leni Robredo who is running for president in the 2022 elections.
Ogie is among many celebrities in the Philippines who bravely air their thoughts and opinions when it comes to social and political issues. He is also known as one of the avid supporters of the Vice President.
Now that Robredo is aiming for the highest government position in the country, Ogie is definitely supporting her. “Wala akong bayad doon ha,” the comedian-talent manager stressed, based on the article in Bandera.
He also said that he does not mind the bashing that he will get. For Ogie Diaz, to whomever he will give his support, bashers will still bash him, and so, he will just support someone who he believes.
“Gusto kong magpasalamat kay Ma’am Leni, thank you for not being corrupt for three consecutive years, COA (commission on audit) approved,” he said. One of the things that Ogie does in order to show his support for VP Leni is reposting her activities, like her relief efforts in Cebu after the typhoon Odette.
His post about this had this caption: “Mula noon hanggang ngayon ganyan si VP Leni Robredo. Consistent na nauuna kapag kinakailangan.” The comedian-talent manager also said that for some this may sound “pamumulitika” but he said that Robredo is really reaching out to the people through this kind of relief effort.
He also addressed those critics who questions the presence of camera during these events. “Ang uso ngayon resibo. Ebidensiya. Andaming resibo mula pa nu’ng hindi pa siya pulitiko sa pagtulong sa kapwa, lalo na sa mahihirap,” Ogie Diaz said.
However, when asked if he is also supporting Senator Kiko Pangilinan, the running mate of VP Leni, Ogie said, “Hindi for now muna.”
