MARK ANTHONY FERNANDEZ – The actor admitted that he still loves his ex-girlfriend, Claudine Barretto.
Claudine and Mark Anthony star in the movie Deception, which marked as their reunion project after 27 years. It is directed by Joel Lamangan.
The movie centers on the story of a woman who is released from jail ten years after she killed her husband. When she meets a guy that looks exactly like her husband, she starts to connect the dots linked to the night the murder happened.
Meanwhile, Mark Anthony Fernandez admitted in an interview that he still loves Claudine Barretto. But he clarified, “as an actress, as a friend.”
“Crush-wise, hindi nawala ang pagka-crush ko sa kanya all these years. Kahit ano pa ang situation, lagi ko siyang crush,” he added.
According to him, he still feels kilig whenever he and Claudine are in the same scene.
Dubbed as “The Optimum Star,” Claudine is regarded as one of the iconic actresses of all time.
Her showbiz career started when she became part of ABS-CBN youth-oriented variety show, Ang TV.
Among her well-acclaimed performances are in drama series like Mula sa Puso, Saan Ka Man Naroroon, Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, Marina, Iisa Pa Lamang.
She also starred in box-office hits such as Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita, Anak, Got 2 Believe, Kailangan Kita, Milan, Nasaan Ka Man, Sukob, and Etiquette for Mistresses.
On the other hand, Mark Anthony Fernandez is the son of late actor Rudy Fernandez and actress-politician Alma Moreno.
He first rose to prominence when he was once a former member of one of the famous showbiz teen group, “Gwapings” alongside Jomari Yllana, Eric Fructuoso, and later with Jao Mapa. Eventually, he starred in numerous films.
