Sara Duterte has endorsed the senatorial bids of President Duterte and 6 others for the 2022 elections.
SARA DUTERTE — On Tuesday, the Lakas-CMD chairperson and vice-presidential aspirant has endorsed the senatorial bids of President Rodrigo Duterte and 6 others for the 2022 elections.
Mayor Sara named six senatorial candidates who will get her support in the 2022 national elections:
- Harry Roque
- Gilbert Teodoro
- Herbert Bautista
- Loren Legarda
- Mark Villar
- Jinggoy Estrada
Mayor Sara’s father, President Duterte, has been named earlier as her senatorial candidate and was expected to be a shoo-in in the UniTeam list which she and presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos were expected to endorse.
According to Mayor Sara, UniTeam didn’t have a senatorial slate yet because Bongbong hasn’t yet made any announcement on the matter.

The Davao City mayor also said that she has senator friends whom she’ll support because they’re his friends.
If Mayor Sara’s list was adopted by the UniTeam, there will only be 5 senatorial candidates left for Bongbong to nominate, unless the coalition decided to endorse more than the available Senate seats to be contested next year.
To recall, it was last 2019 when Mayor Sara, the chairperson of Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), campaigned for 13 senatorial candidates and 9 of the endorsed candidates won.
The Cusi-led faction of the ruling PDP-Laban party initially nominated President Duterte as its vice-presidential bet, but the President said that he would just retire when his term ended in June 30, 2022.
However, President Duterte reneged on his word and entered the senatorial race through substitution under PDDS (Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan).
