It was just recently when Odette, the 15th tropical cyclone for 2021, devastated various parts of the country.

The typhoon wreaks havoc leaving more than 150 casualties as of posting. It is estimated that the damage left is worth millions in infrastructure and agriculture.

Forced evacuation in areas where the typhoon landfall was implemented.

Unfortunately, Honeybee Tangog had a hard time evacuating as the water level in their area rose to chest-deep level.

This prompted her to find a way to evacuate and ensure the safety of her family. At one point, she decided to place her newborn baby inside a water tub or basin as the water rises.

According to her, their house is located where there was water nearby (probably stream or river).

“Sobrang natatakot ako dahil kami lang ang nasa bahay namin, pati ‘yung biyenan ko,” she said.

“Kasi walang ibang malagyan niya dahil palanggana lang ‘yung nakita namin,” she added.

Honeybee said that compared to other storms that passed through in Agusan del Norte, it was only during the height of Typhoon Odette when the water level has risen to chest-deep.

“Sa higaan namin, parang hindi kami makahiga dahil sobrang taas ng tubig,” she said.

Fortunately, they were able to evacuate and the baby is now in good condition.

Honeybee also thanked their barangay captain for helping their family to evacuate.

She called on for donations particularly clothes for her baby since they had all been washed away by the floodwaters.
