Over the past decades, a lot of people not only in the Philippines but also in various regions across the globe are preparing delicious foods every New Year’s evening. They were even looking for the so-called lucky fruits to put on the table during the holiday celebration.

Many of us believe that serving round fruits on New Year’s Eve will bring good luck, fortune and good health for the entire year. This practice has been already a part of the Filipino culture and tradition.

As New Year’s Eve approaches, many shoppers are already flocking to the supermarkets and grocery stores to buy fruits amid the coronavirus pandemic. Most of them are hoping that it will bring them luck after experiencing global crisis, calamities, and other disasters throughout the year.

Here are some lucky fruits that you can serve during New Year ’s Eve 2022:

Mangoes

  • This fruit symbolizes sweetness and strength within the family. It also represents money and attracts good vibes.

Pineapple

  • According to the experts, it symbolizes luck and wealth because the Hokkien word “Ong Lai” means prosperity.

Apple

  • Its red color is associated with health and peace and it even represents harmony.

Watermelon

  • Watermelon seeds represent prosperity and abundance. Aside from luck, this fruit can give good health because it is packed with a lot of nutrients and vitamins.

Orange

  • Its color symbolizes gold and its round shape represents great fortune. Placing it in the kitchen or living room can allegedly attract prosperity
