Miriam Defensor-Santiago’s Party Supports Mayor Sara Duterte’s Candidacy for VP
SARA DUTERTE – The political party of the late former Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, People’s Reform Party, adopted the Davao Mayor as its bet for vice president.
Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is not anymore running for re-election in 2022. She withdrew her bid for the mayoralty race in Davao and endorsed her brother, Davao City Vice Mayor Baste Duterte, for mayor.
Supposedly, Mayor Inday Sara will be vying for her 3rd term as the Davao City mayor. Then, she asked understanding from her supporters who want her to run for a national post explaining that she wants to finish three (3) terms as the Davao City mayor.
Following the withdrawal of her candidacy for mayor, the presidential daughter resigned from Hugpong ng Pagbabago, the regional political party she founded.
Mayor Sara joined Lakas-CMD and substituted its candidate for vice president. She agreed to tandem with former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Jr. who is running for president in the Election 2022.
The party of Marcos Jr., Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, adopted the Davao City Mayor as its vice presidential bet. Recently, another political party adopted the Davao City Mayor.
People’s Reform Party, the political party of the late former Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, adopted Mayor Sara Duterte as its bet for vice president in the Election 2022.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the decision of PRP to support the bid of Mayor Sara Duterte for vice president was announced by PRP president Narciso Santiago Jr., the husband of the late former Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
Marcos Jr. was the vice president of the late former Senator when she ran for president in 2016. Then, she was already battling lung cancer. In September of the same year, the Senator died leaving PH mourning over the loss of an excellent lawmaker.
