Raffy Tulfo is the Top Pick Senatorial Candidate for 2022 Elections – SWS

RAFFY TULFO – The veteran broadcast journalist is the top pick senatorial candidate of Filipinos in the 2022 elections according to a survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

Based on the SWS survey which was commissioned by Stratbase ADR Institute, Inc., 57% of the adult Filipino respondents chose the broadcaster as their top senatorial candidate.

Following Raffy Tulfo are Sorsogon governor Chiz Escudero (41%), House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda (41%), and former Public Works and Highways chief Mark Villar (41%). The three tied the second to fourth spot.

Landing in fifth place is Taguig Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano with 38% while Senate Majority Leader Miguel Zubiri and former senator Jinggoy Estrada earned the sixth and seventh spot respectively with 34% and 29%.

Vice presidential candidate, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan ranked eighth with 28%. Willie Revillame and Senator Risa Hontiveros tied at the ninth and 10th spot with 25% each.

On the other hand, among those who completed the Magic 12 are Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and Richard Gordon, both with 21%.

It was on Sept. 12 to 16 when the SWS survey was conducted. At least 1200 Filipino adults participated as they choose their 12 preferred senators.

According to Inquirer.net, of the 1200 participants; 300 respondents came from Metro Manila, 300 from Balance Luzon, 300 from the Visayas, and 300 from Mindanao.

However, SWS has yet to publish the results when it comes to the presidential and vice-presidential survey.

The Commission on Elections will post a tentative list of candidates on October 29.

On the other hand, the campaign period for nationally-elected positions will kick off on February 8, 2022, until May 7, 2022. The nationwide elections are scheduled to be held on May 9.
