It was just recently when Leni filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) as she vies for the highest position in the government.

Robredo will run independently alongside her vice-presidential running-mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

The congresswoman-turned-vice president will go against the presidential aspirants; Senator Manny Pacquiao, Manila Mayor, Senator Ping Lacson, and former Senator Bongbong Marcos. An immense battle between the presidential bets is expected in the coming days/months.

Following the candidacy of Leni Robredo, Paulina Sotto expressed her support to the opposition standard-bearer.

However, a netizen criticized her for openly supporting Robredo.

“Then I suggest you stop using the name Sotto because your father himself is very supportive of his brother. It just shows what kind of a daughter you are,” the netizen said.

This came after she stressed on Instagram that ties and relations do not obligate support.

Apparently, her uncle Senator Tito Sotto will run for vice president in the coming elections along with his running mate, Senator Ping Lacson.

Tito Sotto is looking forward to filling the position which would be vacated by Leni Robredo once her term ends next year.

Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections will post a tentative list of candidates on October 29.

On the other hand, the campaign period for nationally-elected positions will kick off on February 8, 2022, until May 7, 2022. The nationwide elections are scheduled to be held on May 9.
