Ella Cruz claims her family was the first to choose pink as their campaign color
ELLA CRUZ – The actress-model distanced herself from the presidential candidate, VP Leni Robredo for using pink as a campaign color.
It was just recently when the incumbent vice president filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) as she vies for the highest position in the government,
Robredo will run independently alongside her vice-presidential running-mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
The congresswoman-turned-vice president will go against the presidential aspirants; Senator Manny Pacquiao, Manila Mayor, Senator Ping Lacson, and former Senator Bongbong Marcos. An immense battle between the presidential bets is expected in the coming days/months.
Following the candidacy of Leni Robredo, a lot of celebrities expressed their support to the opposition standard-bearer.
But actress Ella Cruz chose to distance herself from Robredo. She stressed that her family was the first to choose the color pink as their campaign color since her father will run independently in the coming elections.
On Facebook, she stressed that her family was the first to use the color pink as their campaign color.
Meanwhile, in the recent press conference of VP Leni and her vice presidential running mate Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, she explained the reason behind why they chose the color pink.
“‘Yung pink ngayon ay siya ‘yung lumalabas na global symbol of protest and activism,” Leni said.
The Commission on Elections will post a tentative list of candidates on October 29.
On the other hand, the campaign period for nationally-elected positions will kick off on February 8, 2022, until May 7, 2022. The nationwide elections are scheduled to be held on May 9.
