Netizens Lauded Coffee Shop for Showing Kindness to Hardworking Delivery Rider
A coffee shop owner earned praises and admiration from the online community for showing kindness to a delivery rider.
The Facebook page “The Cooking Dad Bake & Brew” has shared the photos of an exhausted delivery rider who stopped in front of their store to eat lunch. The post garnered various reactions from the netizens.
John Eric Enopia of The Cooking Dad Bake & Brew saw a Lalamove rider identified as Kuya Jeric stopped near their shop in Imus, Cavite. The rider pulled out a plastic bag containing his food for lunch.
Enopia invited Jeric to occupy the available chair and table at the shop. The shop owner gave him a glass of cold water and let him eat comfortably. He also asked the riders some questions about his personal life.
The store owner learned that Kuya Jeric has started to pick up orders around dawn and continue to deliver the order of his customers to earn money. The Lalamove employee said that he will go to Laguna after lunch to deliver orders.
Jeric narrated that he is working hard to earn money so his Grade 2 child could continue with its study. He perseveres to provide the financial necessities of his family amid the coronavirus pandemic.

John Eric was moved by the rider’s story and gave him a cop of free iced coffee (Spanish latte over ice). The delivery worker thanked and told him that it was his first time to taste such a drink.

“Kanina habang nagbubukas ako ng shop may huminto na lalamove rider malapit sa akin. Bumaba yung rider at may kinuha ng plastic bag sa lalabag nya.
Umupo sa gilid ng kalye, manananghalian pala sya. Pagkain nya pala yung laman nung plastic bag.
Tinawag ko sya inalok ng mesa at upuan. Inabutan na din ng malamig na tubig.
Habang nakikipagkwentuhan, nabanggit nya na may delivery pa daw sya sa laguna, madaling araw pa daw eh bumabyahe na sya. Tinanong ko sya kung para saan yung kinikita nya.
“Para sa anak ko sir”, grade 2 na kasi sya ayoko naman pong huminto sya mag-aral kaya kahit mahirap byahe lang ng byahe”.
Napabilib ako ni kuya, dahil doon binigyan ko sya ng kape. Yung best seller syempre. Spanish latte over ice. Sabi nya sa buong buhay ko ngayon lang nakatikim ng ganito.
Isang pagsaludo sayo Jeric at sa mga delivery rider na tunay na maaasahan sa panahon ng pandemya…”
