CEBU CITY – The local government of the Queen City of the South is offering house, car, and cash as raffle prizes for vaccinated residents.

The COVID-19 vaccination has rolled out across the country to combat the rapid increase of coronavirus disease.

The COVID-19 vaccination program in the Philippines is an ongoing mass immunization campaign against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), in response to the ongoing pandemic in the country

Among those who were on the priority list of the COVID-19 vaccination program are medical frontliners, persons with comorbidities, and senior citizens.

Pfizer, Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sputnik V are some of the vaccines available in the country.

As of October 13, 2021, about 50,936,703 total vaccine doses have been administered throughout the country, with 23,765,641 being fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, acting mayor Michael Rama of Cebu City said the local government is offering house, car, and cash as raffle prizes for vaccinated residents.

According to him, the prizes include P100,000 worth of gift certificates for hotel accommodation, P100,000 worth of scholarships, and P100,000 worth of groceries.

Last month, the acting mayor of the Queen City of the South said that the city government was finalizing the rollout of the incentive program. It aims to encourage the constituents of Cebu to get vaccinated.

Cebu City is not the first city in offering prizes for vaccinated constituents.

Las Piñas also offered the same incentive program to people who wanted to be vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 Because of the program, the vaccination rate of the city increased.
