According to her, Manila Councilor Yul Servo Nieto will be her running mate in the next year’s election.

Honey Lacuna worked as a physician in the city health office before she ventured into politics. She served as the councilor of Manila City from 2004 until 2013.

In the 2016 city election, she was chosen as the running mate of former Mayor Joseph Estrada, who was seeking re-election at the time. She then won the vice mayoralty race.

In 2019, she partnered with Isko Moreno to secure re-election as vice mayor.

If she wins the upcoming election, she will be the first female mayor of Manila City.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, September 22, Isko Moreno, a former actor-turned-politician formally announced his candidacy for the 2022 presidential elections. It was held at the Baseco Compound in Tondo, Manila.

In his speech that lasted for thirty (30) minutes, he chides at the administration particularly its response to the pandemic.

He also outlined his difference from those seeking to run for higher positions in the government.

At the end of his presidential campaign launch speech, Isko revealed the reason for choosing Dr. Willie Ong as his vice president.

Aside from Isko, among those who recently announced their presidential bid are Senators Manny Pacquiao and Ping Lacson.

The filing of certificates of candidacies will be from October 1 up to October 8, 2021, while the campaign period for nationally-elected positions will kick off on February 8, 2022, until May 7, 2022.
