It was on Sunday, September 20, Manny Pacquiao, a boxer-turned-politician announced his presidential bid under the PDP-Laban party.

A day after announcing his presidential bid, Raffy Tulfo was rumored to be his running mate.

But an insider of the Kapatid Network denied reports that he’s vying for the said post.

According to the insider as per the report of PEP.ph, the veteran broadcaster eyes for a senatorial slot in the upcoming polls.

This is what Raffy Tulfo said when he bid goodbye and asked for the blessing of Kapatid Network.

TV5, on the other hand, supports his political plan. Therefore, rumors spreading that he’s running as vice president of Manny Pacquiao were untrue.

The insider from TV5 also refuted that Raffy will run under the political party of Pacquiao, PDP-Laban (Pacquiao and Senator Koko Pimentel faction).

The insider stressed that Raffy is not part of any political party and he will run as a senator as an independent candidate.

Meanwhile, among those who have shown interest in running for the 2022 elections in the senatorial slate are Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Former Vice President Jejomar Binay, Leyte Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez, and Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

The filing of certificates of candidacies will be from October 1 up to October 8, 2021, while the campaign period for nationally-elected positions will kick off on February 8, 2022, until May 7, 2022.

The 2022 election is scheduled to be held on May 9.
