During his taped “Talk to the People” public briefing late Wednesday night, Sept. 22, he called the tactic a “cheap political gimmick”.

Gordon, a senator and at the same time chairman of PRC- a humanitarian organization, has been criticized by the president of the Republic of the Philippines.

President Duterte is pushing the Commission on Audit (COA) to check the funding of the said international organization. According to him, it is being funded by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

In a two-hour briefing, Duterte asked Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III: “Sir, may itanong lang ako sa iyo. Iyong mga ambulansya mo ba, may mukha kang naka-plaster diyan?”

To which he replied: “Wala po, sir. Hindi po natin gawain ‘yun, sir. Masama po ‘yun.”

He then cited the ambulances of the Philippine Red Cross decorated with the face of Gordon.

The Chief Executive then asked Gordon why it was him he looked down on in the past for being a “cheap politician.”

The president and the senator have been exchanging words over the past weeks since the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee started to investigate former Presidential economic adviser Michael Yang and former Budget Undersecretary Lloyd Christopher Lao for the allegedly anomalous procurement of overpriced pandemic supplies.

As of posting, Gordon has yet to issue any statement regarding the latest tirade of Duterte.
