Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte revealed that two senators have offered to run as her vice president.
On Wednesday, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte revealed that two senators have offered to run as her vice president in the 2022 national elections.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Sara said that Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and Senator Sherwin Gatchalian have personally expressed their offer to run as her running mate in the upcoming elections.
“I can confirm the people who have personally expressed their offer to run as my vice president,” Mayor Sara said in a statement, naming Go and Gatchalian.
Also, Mayor Sara denied the claim of her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, about her possible tandem with Senator Imee Marcos.

She explained that Senator Imee visited her in Davao last May 29 to personally relay her birthday wishes and this was the only visit she has made to her in Davao so far.
The presidential daughter also mentioned other names who supposedly intended to team up with her as relayed by mutual friends or certain groups.
Last August, the Cusi-led ruling party PDP-Laban endorsed Senator Go and President Duterte for 2022.

President Duterte had acceded to the ruling party’s endorsement and confirmed that he’ll seek the vice presidency.
The President later qualified this declaration by saying that he will not pursue his vice presidential bid if his daughter aimed for the country’s top post.
Meanwhile, Senator Go had rejected the endorsement and reiterated that he’s not interested to be the country’s chief executive and that he simply wanted to focus on his role as the chairman of the Senate committee on health.
