Rayver Cruz on Gabby Concepcion: “Napakaperpekto niyang lalake, napakaguwapo talaga ni Kuya Gabby.”
RAYVER CRUZ – The Kapuso actor praised Gabby Concepcion and even called him “napakaperpekto niyang lalake” during the mediacon of the upcoming series Nagbabagang Luha.
Rayver stars in the 2021 remake of the 1988 film which once starred Gabby, Lorna Tolentino, Richard Gomez, and Alice Dixson.
In the movie version, Gabby plays the role of Alex Montaire which will be reprised by Rayver in its TV version.
According to him, he wasn’t able to talk to Gabby about how he will be portraying the character in the titular drama.
“Hindi ko pinanood kasi gusto ko yung iba yung ano, e. Baka kasi may tendency na magaya ko po mismo yung sa movie, so parang mas magiging raw po for me kung gagawin ko yung project,” he said.
Rayver added that apart from the fact that he might imitate what happened in the movie, he might as well copy “yung mga nuances or yung acting ni Kuya Gabby.” So he avoids watching the film, “parang magkaiba lang po nang konti.”
But he stressed that “hindi ko kasi magagaya talaga sa kanya yung napakaperpekto niyang lalake, napakaguwapo talaga ni Kuya Gabby. Ibang level yun, e.”
Joining Rayver in Nagbabagang Luha is Glaiza de Castro as Maria Theresa “Maita” Ignacio-Montaire, Mike Tan as Aidan “Bien” De Dios, Claire Ignacio as Cielo Ignacio, Gina Alajar as Calida Montaire, and to name a few.
It will premiere this coming Monday and is directed by Ricky Davao and Phillip Lazaro.
