On Tuesday, August 17, Mayor Benjamin Magalong announced that Arjo left the city despite the fact that he was positive for COVID-19.

The mayor explained that Arjo allegedly did not follow the instruction not to leave Baguio while waiting for the result of his COVID-19 test.

Magalong allegedly found out that Arjo Atayde left Baguio on August 16.

After earning criticism, many turned to social media to defend Arjo Atayde and one of which is actor-dancer Nikko Natividad.

On Twitter, he wrote: “Hindi kame inabanduna. Nakakatawa kasi pagkakareport. At hindi rin ho tumakas. Sinugod ho sa hospital.”

In another post, he noted: “Napaka buti at alaga ni arjo sa aming lahat. Kaya panong sasabihing inabanduna?

Meanwhile, the camp of Arjo Atayde has issued an official statement following claims of Baguio mayor Benjamin Magalong regarding his alleged breach of safety protocols.

On Wednesday, August 18, the management of Feelmaking Productions Inc., Arjo’s production company, released an official statement signed by the head of the production, Ellen Criste.

Criste said it was a “mutual decision” by the production, Arjo’s parents, and the actor’s doctors to take him to a hospital in Manila.

Contrary to Magalong’s earlier statement that Arjo Atayde left his colleagues in Baguio, Criste clarified that the production provided “assistance” to nine other people from their group who tested positive for COVID-19.

Criste, on the other hand, assured that the production followed the safety protocols of Baguio City.

Arjo’s camp is now asking for prayers for his fast recovery.
