Wife of Baguio Mayor Magalong among fined at Tim Yap’s party
Arlene Magalong, the wife of Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong was among the guests fined after attending the controversial birthday party of Tim Yap.
His grand birthday celebration was attended by some of the well-known personalities such as KC Concepcion as well as Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
However, it gained the ire of the mass after some footage at the event went viral with some people seen violating minimum health protocols against coronavirus such as not wearing face masks and observing social distancing.
In this regard, the local government of Baguio penalized those who committed a violation while at the party.
On the other hand, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the LGU will be held responsible to investigate its city mayor, who’s also the contact tracing czar.
Meanwhile, Baguio Tourism officer Aloysius Mapalo confirmed in an interview that the wife of the Baguio mayor was among those fined for not wearing a face mask as seen in the photos.
“Yun po ang alam ko din. Si madam Arlene Magalong na-fine din po kasi nakita rin po sa photos na nakalimutang mag-mask,” he said.
“I see that unfortunate event as one incident na na-overlook lang ang iba nating health protocols because there was a revelry. At that moment medyo may nakalimutan,” he added.
