On Tuesday, August 17, Magalong announced Arjo’s departure from the city despite the fact that he was positive for COVID-19.

The mayor explained that Arjo allegedly did not follow the instruction not to leave Baguio while waiting for the result of his COVID-19 test.

Magalong allegedly found out that Arjo Atayde left Baguio on August 16.

Magalong said: “Positive siya. Kaya lang bigla siya umalis kahapon without our knowledge, claiming na siya lang daw ang asymptomatic. At yung mga kasama niya, asymptomatic, iniwanan na lang niya…”

The mayor is said to be worried that what Arjo did might infect other people.

On Wednesday, August 18, the management of Feelmaking Productions Inc., Arjo’s production company, released an official statement.

Based on the report of PEP.ph, it was signed by the head of the production, Ellen Criste.

Criste said it was a “mutual decision” by the production, Arjo’s parents, and the actor’s doctors to take him to a hospital in Manila.

Contrary to Magalong’s earlier statement that Arjo Atayde left his colleagues in Baguio, Criste clarified that the production provided “assistance” to nine other people from their group who tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Criste, Arjo’s family contacted Mayor Magalong about the issue.

This seems to be related to Magalong’s statement that there were other violations of safety protocols committed by Arjo’s group.

Allegedly, the production did not follow the agreement that bubble or lock-in shooting would be implemented in the making of the film, which involved about a hundred people.

Magalong said he found out that some people go home in the middle of the period of what should have been a bubble.

Criste, on the other hand, assured that the production followed the safety protocols of Baguio City.

Arjo’s camp is now asking for prayers for his fast recovery.
