Here’s the reaction of JV Ejercito on tension between Isko Moreno and Duterte
Former senator JV Ejercito praised Manila Mayor Isko Moreno for being “cool” amid tension with President Rodrigo Duterte.
On Monday, the president announced that a mayor in Metro Manila would not be given the power to distribute aid amid the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
Although not mentioning names, it turned out that Duterte is hitting Yorme Isko Moreno.
Despite this, according to Ejercito (the son of former President Joseph Estrada, who in the last elections lost the mayoralty in Manila to Moreno) the actor-turned-politician still thanked Duterte.
“All is well. I hope. Props to @IskoMoreno for keeping his cool and even thanking PRRD,” he said in a tweet.
He said as such is the quality that leaders need to have especially in difficult situations.
“This is what we need from leaders in difficult situations—the maturity to ignore political noise, the level-headed leadership to focus on the job at hand, and the decency to do what is right,” he added.
The tension between the mayor of Manila City and the President of the Philippines continues to escalate on different levels garnering reactions from the public and private individuals.
Recently, entertainment columnist and talent manager Lolit Solis gave her reaction on the pressing issue.
Meanwhile, Isko Moreno, whose real name is Francisco Moreno Domagoso, is one of the leading names who is said to be running for president in the 2022 elections.
Isko started his career as a matinee idol and later on ventured into politics and was elected as 22nd mayor of Manila City in 2019.
On the other hand, Presidential daughter Sara Duterte, boxing champ-senator Manny Pacquiao and Senator Ping Lacson are as well said to be running the highest post in the country in the upcoming polls.
The incumbent president also vies for a position as vice president in the 2022 elections.
