With the positive reception of their recent singles online, KZ and TJ both shared their advocacy to urge regional singers to create and share more songs.

KZ, who wrote the song “Dodong” for TJ, said that there were a lot of artists from Visayas and Mindanao who were amazing singer-songwriters who were waiting to have an opportunity and even producers can be there at the international level of quality and that’s something that Filipinos should be proud of.

She explained that everyone in the Philippines understood Filipino but not everyone understood Bisaya, didn’t understand Ilonggo, Ilokano, and other languages from the country.

TJ, who wrote the song “Inday” for KZ, said that they wanted to change the mindset that non-Tagalog songs were just for regional release.

According to TJ, a lot of Bisaya songs have been re-released and many had become hits, but he personally thought Bisaya songs can only make a breakthrough if they kept on producing if they took out the “regionalistic mindset”.

KZ said that she hoped that the music industry in the Philippines can give opportunities to those who lived outside Luzon. According to her, they’re trying to open a door that’s not too noticeable that they can explore, that they can show not only to the whole country but that they can show to the world.

TJ also hoped that the message of the song transcended the language barrier once people started listening to it. He shared that writing Bisaya songs became part of his system.
