Avatar: The Last Airbender also known as Avatar: The Legend of Aang is centered around the journey of twelve-year-old Aang, the current Avatar and last survivor of his nation, the Air Nomads, along with his friends Katara, Sokka, and later Toph, as they strive to end the Fire Nation’s war against the other nations of the world.

It is set in an Asiatic-like world in which certain people can manipulate one of the four elements—water, earth, fire, or air—with telekinetic variants of the Chinese martial arts known as “bending”.

The Avatar is the only individual who can bend all four elements. He is responsible for maintaining the balance between the four nations at the same time serve as the bridge between the physical world and the spirit world.

It also follows the story of Zuko accompanied by his wise uncle Iroh—and later, that of his ambitious sister Azula.
