Cacao Project Founder Goes to CHR to Complain About Exploitation of a ‘Vlogger’

Cacao Project founder Louise Mabulo: “The attacks against me are on social media, but my platform is real life— undeniable.”

Cacao Project founder Louise Mabulo went to the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) – Region V on Tuesday to complain about the exploitation of a “vlogger.”

In her post, she revealed that she had a meeting with several CHR officials to discuss the issue between her and the vlogger whom she did not name.

But it is no secret that the vlogger that Mabulo is referring to and complaining about is Nuseir Yassin of Nas Daily.

Mabulo surfaced in the middle of the Nas Daily issue with traditional tattoo artist Apo Whang Od, who’s revered as one of the country’s last living artists practicing the art of traditional Kalinga tattooing – a hand-tapped method using thorns and charcoal for ink.

Grace Palicas, the grandniece of Whang-od, claimed in a now-deleted post that the “Whang-Od Academy” was a scam and the 104-year-old artist did not sign any contract with Nas’ team.

Nas Academy then responded to Grace’s post, insisting that it had Whang-Od’s consent as the company shared a video of Whang-Od affixing her thumbprint onto a contract as proof.

Due to the ongoing issue, Filipino personalities who are part of the academy backed out.

Earlier, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray announced that she and Cornerstone Entertainment will stop accepting new applicants for Nas Academy course.

Aside from her, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) also announced that it will no longer push through its course offering at Nas Academy.

As per the claim of Cacao Project founder, she said that a few years ago, they had a “bad experience” with the vlogger as it underestimated his Cacao Project and even the farmers.

But Yassin defended himself and said that they did not pursue to feature the Cacao Project in Nas Daily because it was allegedly a “fake story.”
